Concordia Parish middle school teacher, D'Shay Rushing Oaks, serves as vice president of the LAE.
D'Shay is an 8th grade teacher at Vidalia Junior High School.
In her local chapter, the Concordia Association of Educators (CAE), she's previously served as president, vice president, and secretary. At the state level, D'Shay has served on the LAE Board of Directors for the Association's second district. Her leadership roles on LAE's Board include her service on the budget, investment, and executive committees.
She was recently named Teacher of the Year for Vidalia Junior High School in 2019.
