Public Relations and Communications
LAE alerts the public of members’ views and also works to enhance the image of school employees. The LAE Communications department employs public relations programs including media relations, community relations, grassroots PR, and viral marketing. The department is also responsible for organizing such Association special events as Read Across Louisiana, Lobby Day, and National Teacher Day activities.
The LAE Voice
LAE produces a number of communications materials in order to get the word out about association news and events. The LAE Voice is your best source of accurate, timely information about current laws, regulations, and policies concerning public education. The LAE Voice is an all-member newspaper that has won numerous national awards for education publishing.
NEA Today Magazine and Online Subscriptions
As an LAE member, you will receive copies of the NEA Today magazine. Each day, neatoday.org brings you the latest take on what’s happening in the world of education. Here, you can learn more about the NEA’s activism on key issues facing our 3.2 million members, and read what those members have to say about the current events that affect them. You can also check out news features on educators across the nation and “must-read” stories of the day.
