Legislative Contact Team

The LAE/NEA is a recognized force at the Capitol in Baton Rouge and in Washington, D. C., but there are times when the issues are so important that politicians need to hear the individual voices of the people who actually vote for them. Those individual voices provide support for the unified message—you provide the stories that make the issues real.

Because we compete with anti-public education forces daily for the attention of local school board members, legislators, BESE members, and Congressmen, your Local Association, the LAE, and the NEA need to be able to mobilize our individual voices at a moment’s notice. That’s why we have created the Legislative Contact Team (LCT) to mobilize members and provide you with the information you will need to influence elected leaders to give you what you will need to insure that Louisiana’s children get what they deserve—a quality public school.
