Eligibility:
Applications to the Melody and Special Project programs are made available by invitation only. If your program meets the criteria below, you may submit an online Pre-Qualification form to be considered for an invitation. Please be sure to submit the appropriate Pre-Qualification form for the program that you are eligible for. Pre-Qualification forms will be available until September 29, 2011.

•Public, private and charter schools may apply, however, schools must be Title 1 or or serve a population of at least 40% that qualify for the National Lunch Program.
•Schools must have an established instrumental music program (i.e. concert band, marching band, jazz band and/or orchestra) that is at least three years old. If your school offers Orff/classroom music only, it is NOT eligible to apply.
•Schools must have an existing inventory of instruments.
•Schools must apply separately (please provide information for the applying school only, do not include information for other schools within the district even if the music teacher teaches at more than one school).
•Teachers that teach at more than one school within the school district can only apply for one school per grant cycle.
•Full or partial requests may be awarded consisting of new and/or refurbished instruments

The nominee's program, course or project must be operating or initiated during the previous academic year.

Lowe’s Toolbox for Education Grant Program
Eligibility:
 
Any individual public K-12 school or non-profit parent group associated with that public K-12 school. Parent groups that are applying (PTO, PTA, etc.) must have an independent EIN and official 501c(3) status from the IRS. If your group does not have 501c(3) status, please apply through your school. Pre-schools are not eligible.
 
Purpose:
 
For More Than 60 Years, Lowe's Has Supported The Communities We Call Home. At A Time When Schools And Community Groups Are Struggling To Make Ends Meet, Lowe's Charitable And Educational Foundation Recognizes That We Must Increase Our Focus On Basic, One-time Project Needs.

Again, This Year, We Challenge Ourselves To Seek Ways To Provide The Tools That Help Our Educators And Parent Groups Through These Challenging Times Efficiently And With The Greatest Impact. In 2011-2012, Basic Needs Will Take Priority. Please Keep This Focus In Mind As You Apply For A Toolbox For Education Grant In The 2011-2012 Academic Year. Thank You.
