Student membership shall be open to any student enrolled in or preparing for a teacher education program in an accredited institution of higher learning. Student members shall be eligible to be voting members of the LAE Representative Assembly. The annual dues shall be set by the LAE-Student Program organization at their annual convention, subject to approval by the Board of Directors. "My name is Brandan Trahan and I’m a sophomore at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. For the past year I’ve been involved with LAE and in that time, I’ve attended two of their Summer Leadership Conferences. Just like last year’s conference, this year was fun, motivational, and very educational. I participated in a variety of workshops with topics ranging from recruiting new members to preparing a budget for your local organization. I was able to take something out of each workshop that I would like to take back to my local. Another great thing about LAE conferences is that you get to meet fellow educators from around the state and use this time as a networking social."
