LAE's Instructional Advocacy department manages the development of pro-public education policy briefs on federal, state and local issues.  The department also develops and implements cutting-edge grassroots issue briefs and works through and efficient and effective infrastructure for promoting LAE's instructional advocacy.

POLICY RESEARCH

LAE's IA department conducts policy research and analysis and convenes leading policy experts for discussion of key national, state and local policy issues impacting public education.  The research provides critical support for LAE's advocacy efforts and campaigns at the state and local levels.

MONITORS AND TESTIFIES

The IA department addresses policies related to public education through its lobby efforts with the Teachers Retirement System of Louisiana (TRSL), the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) and the State Board of Education.

EDUCATION REFORMS

Education reform are always a popular topic when talking about school innovation.  That is why the IA department works on major reform issues including but not limited to: Literacy and Numeracy, High School Redesign, Development of Multiple Accountability Measures, Charter Schools, SSD and BSS Schools, Certification and tracking of other educational issues of interest.

INSTRUCTIONAL TRAININGS

The IA department develops continuing education courses and provides trainings on a wide range of professional development topics for both classroom applications and tailored trainings for our education support professions.
